An Ocean Condensed

In collaboration with my Advanced Studio Seminar (ART 494) class at Western Washington University, we each created personal works that would focus on themes we hoped to pursue in our future works. These works were all to be displayed ultimately in our exhibition: "Anomalous."
For my works, I focused on the internal struggle of anxiety and depression, and the effect those emotions can have on an individual if not confronted. These themes stem from my own experiences as I hope to connect in a similar way with the viewer.
My works are inspired by Frida Kahlo's self-portraits, the identity and exaggerated colors from Fang Li-jun, and the invention of a space inspired by David Hockney.
Each piece is 22''x30'' in size and are meant to be displayed in numerical order.
